Dr. Roy Waldroup

Senior Pastor of Fletcher First Baptist Church

Dr. Roy Waldroup grew up in Hot Springs, North Carolina, where at the age of 12 years old he trusted Christ as his Savior. That decision shaped the course of his life, setting him on a path of service to the Lord that has now spanned decades.

Alongside his beloved wife, Sandra Waldroup, he has faithfully built a family and a ministry rooted in faith, love, and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Together they have raised two children—Darrin and Michael—and have watched their family grow to include four grandchildren—Shelby, Luke, Troy, and Zachary—and two great-grandchildren—Isla and Dutton. The Waldroups represent a multigenerational testimony of God’s goodness, carrying forward a legacy of faith that continues to impact lives today.

For more than 30 years, Pastor Roy has served as Pastor of Fletcher First Baptist Church. Under his leadership, the church has stood firm on the Word of God as a place of prayer, worship, evangelism, discipleship, ministry, and fellowship. His life and ministry together paint the picture of a man who has given himself fully to Christ, to his family, and to the calling of shepherding God’s people.

In addition to his pastoral ministry, Dr. Waldroup preaches revivals, camp meetings, and conferences across the country through Waldroup Family Ministries. With a heart for truth and a voice for the Gospel, his preaching uplifts the church, challenges the lost, and glorifies Christ in every message.

The Waldroup Family

The Waldroup family is a multigenerational ministry family rooted in faith, love, and a shared calling to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

It all began with Dr. Roy Waldroup and his wife Sandra Waldroup, who have faithfully served the Lord for decades. Dr. Roy continues to pastor Fletcher First Baptist Church, laying a spiritual foundation that has impacted generations.

Their son, Dr. Darrin Waldroup, and his wife Jeanna, have carried on that legacy, serving together in full-time ministry for over 30 years. Darrin and Jeanna have two children—Shelby and Luke—who also serve the Lord with their families.

Shelby Fisher and her husband Brian are raising their daughter Isla in the same spirit of faith and family. Rev. Luke Waldroup, along with his wife Carrie, continue the ministry mantle through preaching, youth ministry, and evangelism. They are blessed with a son, Dutton, the newest generation being raised to know and serve Christ.

Together, the Waldroups represent three generations of preachers dedicated to lifting high the name of Jesus and pointing souls to the blessed hope.
